A child prepared for kindergarten has a much greater chance of succeeding in school and in life.
Learning for Life: Ready For School, Ready For Life is a primetime hour-long special that will air Sunday, Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. on KING 5 TV. Anchors Joyce Taylor and Brad Goode will look at what it means to be "kindergarten ready," why it's important, and how we all can make a positive impact on a child's future. Also airing during the special is the new Thrive by Five Washington and KING 5 TV Public Service Announcement.
The special will re-air on KSKN TV in Spokane on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. and on Northwest Cable News on Monday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In support of and in coordination with the special, Clear Channel Communications will promote the special on its radio stations across the state and host conversations about early learning and school readiness on KUBE 93 (Sunday, Aug. 30 from 8-9 a.m.) and KJR-AM Sports Radio (Sunday, Aug. 30 from 10-11 p.m.).
Thrive by Five Washington and KING 5 TV joined in partnership earlier this year to help raise public awareness about the importance of early learning. As part of this partnership, KING airs Learning for Life, a week-long series of news stories and live interviews, the third week of every month from 7 to 8 a.m. on KING 5 Morning News on KONG 6/16 TV. Learning for Life tackles a variety of early learning topics that not only appeal to parents, grandparents and those who work with young children but also the general public.
All Learning for Life segments can be viewed on Thrive's Web site.
